One of our more prestigious clients has asked our assistance in seeking a Cloud Native Platform Manager to help lead a world-class team to deliver state of the art cloud-native platform experiences.

  • Lead a team that delivers amazing cloud-native platform experiences, provide the strategic direction and oversight to Cloud Native Platform team efforts.

  • Oversee the day to day operations of the cloud platforms (PCF, Kubernetes, etc) and related technologies

  • Partner with and develop working relationships with stakeholders to ensure cloud platforms effectively integrate into the software delivery pipeline, meet stakeholder requirements, and continue to improve

  • Accountable to lead and drive the continuing maturity of practices used to deliver cloud-native platform products. *** Grow the team's ability to effectively participate in delivering the over-arching Cloud strategy (AWS)** FUN FUN~~ Let's do this!!

  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of cloud-native platform engineers to execute Nationwide’s strategic vision for the cloud. Manage a product team that delivers products that empowers development teams to build and run scalable applications in modern, dynamic environments.

  • Team management role with a heavy focus on developer relations and cloud platform services.

  • Creates and maintains a cloud-native application platform product that is characterized as being: o API Driven, Responsive, Resilient, Elastic, Scalable, Developer Focused, Seamless, Multi-Cloud Developed your skills already in:

  • Agile development practices

  • Integration of Open Source Software (OSS) projects and commercial software

  • Custom system code

  • Following industry standard infrastructure as code practices

  • 7-10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years of experience managing an IT operations team. IT industry knowledge in specific areas.

  • Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives.

  • Solving problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.

  • Ability to handle most situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues. Job Summary Required Skills:

  • Experience responding to audits and remediating audit findings

  • Understanding of organizational change management, IT Cloud operations principals, Information Security, Application Development tools and methods. Desired Skills:

  • Management or leadership experience in engineering, architecture, application development, information security, or operations

  • Experience with managing all phases of cloud migration, cloud operation capabilities

  • Experience with Kubernetes / Pivotal Cloud Foundry / Docker

  • Experience with programming languages

  • Experience in DevSecOps principles and practices

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent

  • Preferred certifications: o AWS Developer, Operations, Specialty, cloud certifications o Pivotal Cloud Foundry Operator o Pivotal Developer o Kubernetes Administrator o Kubernetes Developer

  • Understanding of Open Source Software (OSS) project structure and governance

  • Ability to communicate complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means

  • Ability to develop or recommend analytic approaches or solutions to problems and situations for which information is incomplete or for which no precedent exists A typical day in the life of a Cloud Native Platform Manager:

  • Collaborates with developers to create cloud-native applications and services that run on the cloud-native application platforms (PCF and CNP)

  • Troubleshoots platform issues identified through monitoring, metrics analysis, and user incident reports.

  • Develops supporting systems that will predict, respond, report, and alert on cloud-native platform issues and defects

  • Develops systems and processes that will minimize non-engineering activities (toil)

  • Delivers platform features as identified in the product road-map
