Twilio is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to design, develop, deploy and operate AI and Machine Learning services at scale working side-by-side with our Data Science and NLP experts to build the technology to power the next generation AI-powered communication products. You will work on natural language understanding, dialog Management, and training pipelines with a focus on high availability and scale, all running in our virtualized cloud environment. You bring experience with complex distributed systems and machine learning pipelines, working in a Java production system, and comfort with Python. Even better, you have expertise with ML and NLP frameworks and you are comfortable with with scalable data pipelines and data stores (MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka & Spark).
As a senior AI/Machine Learning engineer, you would be working alongside a collaborative team of engineers and data scientists, building the Twilio's next generation AI products. In doing so, you will own, create and operate REST APIs, Machine Learning Pipelines, and Data Pipelines to power our AI systems. As a Senior Engineer you will be responsible for building the infrastructure comprised of horizontally scalable Java & Python services, high availability data stores, scalable machine learning pipelines, distributed queues and developer-facing APIs. You will mentor junior engineers on the team as well as part of the interview team on new positions to develop and grow the team.

This position will be located in our office at 375 Beale Street in San Francisco or in Mountain View.
