Twilio is looking for an Operations Engineer to join our Messaging Operations team, to perform tactical routing operations to ensure that Twilio balance maximising cost effectiveness, while providing the highest quality of service for SMS traffic. The right candidate will be passionate about serving customers, have deep SMS domain knowledge and experience, especially in the US Market.
You are a results oriented individual who is motivated to tackle complex problems, has a “can do” attitude, is passionate about messaging and metrics, and is willing to go above and beyond to help our customers.
As an Operations Engineer, you will work with a global team responsible for route analysis, route testing, monitoring, troubleshooting and reporting on routing quality and service costs. The role will also involve identifying and resolving provider configuration and service/routing related issues and devising and implementing elegant and scalable solutions to various problems at the routing, SMPP and SS7 level. Your role is key to driving excellence to ensure that we achieve the highest level of quality for SMS termination and origination for our customers and you will be a domain level expert and point of contact for Sales, Support and technical teams at Twilio.
You will own and maintain global routing products with a focus of identifying and implementing new commercial routing opportunities. The role will also involve troubleshooting issues with carriers and customers and having a deep understanding of SMS regulations and restrictions globally. You will work closely with engineering teams to drive requirements and new features and products to improve our monitoring, alerting and routing capabilities to constantly improve our operational excellence.
