Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking an Engineer Manager to Super Network SMS team to be a key leader in building out Twilio SMS infrastructure. This role will lead engineering teams working on routing and number lookup domains. Reporting to the Engineering lead of SMS Engineering, this position is critical and will support Twilio’s continued significant growth.
Twilio is looking for a leader with a demonstrated leadership skills in software engineering domains.
- 7+ years of experience in software or telecommunications industry
- Previous experience in leading role
- Understanding of software development methodologies
- Great communication and expressive skills
As an Engineering Manager, you will:
- Be responsible for engineering team deliverables
- Work together with product management on the roadmap
- Ensure staffing and performance of the engineering team
- Have to travel in EU/US a couple of times in year
SMS Engineering is responsible for developing and operating one of the key products of Twilio. While doing providing more than 60 billion interactions a year it is critical that SMS infrastructure is highly reliable, low latency, efficient and able to sustain sudden rapid increases and decreases in load.
Routing and number lookups are key components for ensuring high deliverability of customer messages according to their business needs, including cost and regulatory requirements in 120 countries.
