Tinker

  • The social aspect, issue tracking and PR's are a great way to code and have it visible, keep it alive. Plus the README's and Emoji's :-)

  • Ohh, Non-blocking, JSON embedded, javascriptable event loop server, we love you. Node is quick, easy, extensible, JSON and HTTP native. It's great. We can easily integrate Purescript code with it and even crazier stuff (like Idris https://github.com/statebox/dstbx)

  • Sentry is amazing, most of our systems send their exceptions to sentry. We couldn't live without it and get a much better understanding of how our code is behaving in the wild. Plus it integrates with Github.

  • Writing README.md's is very important to us. Also a lot of our content is maintained in Markdown (using contentful.com). We are also cool with org-mode.

  • How can you not use npm :-)

  • Decoupling various backend services

  • Our Customer Care peeps use it and we synchronise customer data into it to help them organise and find things quickly.

  • We use Purescript and bower is (currently) it's package manager.

  • If a project has a more complex build, gulp allows us to build a flexible build pipeline and automatically rebuild on files changes. Speeds up JS development.
