We chose to include Git and GitHub for version control and Stack Overflow for support in our stack. These are extremely popular tools among the software development community. Git allows the team to split and merge our work efficiently. GitHub provides a range of functions including code management, tracking the progress of the product and reviewing the contributions of other team members. Stack Overflow contains solutions of many development problems across many different languages. It also provides the ability to create new inquiries if a solution is not found. Therefore it is a necessity in the development process.

As it is the communication tool chosen for the course, our team will be using Slack to monitor the course announcements from our instructor as well as to communicate with the instructor and industry partners. The tool for communicating within the team will be Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams enables the team to share documents and edit them synchronously(Google Drive is not an option due to one team member's location). Since it also provides a group chat feature, we chose to use it as our communication tool to avoid using too many softwares.

A major part of our project includes visualizing the data through graphs and charts. We chose to use d3.js since it provides a wide selection of well-designed graphics and animations. As a library, it is also easy to use and be included in our UI. JavaScript which our team has experience with was also selected to integrate graphics from d3.js into the UI, as well as to integrate the UI with the backend system. Along with JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS 3 are also selected mostly for styling and formatting the webpage. These three languages are widely used which means that more support will be available, making the implementation process easier.
