I use Ghost Inspector because sometimes you just need to get the client or project started quickly on automated testing to prove value. Ghost Inspector offers super easy authoring, and cloud hosting by default so it's good for small projects. It might not have all the features of testing frameworks but the ramp up is super easy, so it's value for time invested is huge.

I use Cypress for testing apps developed with Javascript front end frameworks because it provides stable tests. A benefit is that it's fast and has great documentation, but the killer is how well it "just works" with frameworks like angular and react where in the past I've struggled webdriver due to inconsistent network latency in commands.
