Hey Keyaan07,

Am I right to assume that you are looking to store this data in documents and therefore looking at Mongo as an option? If so, I'd take a look at using Aerospike's documentDB capabilities as a far more performant option that can scale with you as you grow and eliminate the need to re-platform in the future.

I'd be more than happy to jump on a call at your leisure to walk you through the trade offs and best time to use Mongo/Druid/Aerospike

Hey Yassine-green,

I'd recommend exploring Aerospike for the real-time vehicle tracking application for a number of reasons... It will scale out to millions of users (If needed) , hit sub ms SLA's across PB's of data, all while never having to re-platform your database. In most cases users are collapsing their Postgres/Redis deployments onto a single Aerospike instance.

Aerospike's mapping algorithm gives users the unique ability to get dram performance off of SSD/NVME's leading to a significant reduction in hardware cost.

Erick,

While Yugabyte & ScyllaDB are great options they both come with their own inherit limitations. If I had to chose between the two, I'd go with Scylla. However, I'd highly consider taking a look at Aerospike, as it really shines where those other two options fall short.

Aerospike, is the global leader in next generation real-time NoSQL data solutions. We power instant payment transactions for The European Central Bank, transaction fraud for PayPal and Barclays, identity resolution for LexisNexis Risk Solutions, and pre-trade risk mitigation at Charles Schwab.

Our ability to deliver superior performance on significantly less hardware combined with our multi model approach is why you should consider taking a look. Don't take my word for it. Here is a list of user talks and benchmarks that should paint a pretty clear picture.

Hey Ammar,

I'd consider using AerospikeDB. Online mobile game providers like Playtika and Sony Playstation leverage it to keep their users data synched across millions of devices, update leaderboards, provide in app recommendations, player matching etc. Not exactly a notes synching use case but should illustrate the capabilities that are relatable. Another one of the huge benefits is that it will scale both up and out to fit your usage allowing you to maximize the value of your hardware and what's even better... is available directly on the AWS Market Place.

Hey Yash,

Based on your question I would defiantly recommend checking out the Aerospike Java object mapper...

https://developer.aerospike.com/tutorials/java/object_mapper

It will store your java objects natively and also allow you to perform queries against the data as well. If you're interested in setting up a demo we'd be more than happy to walk you through it as well as answer any other question you may have.

I'd recommend looking into using Aerospike's Community edition for a number of reasons. 1.) Ease of use 2.) Superior throughput 3.) Five 9's Uptime 3.) Best in class hardware utilization

Here's a link to a solution brief that dives a little deeper. https://aerospike.highspot.com/items/5ff8d57af7794d11d13cc41a?lfrm=srp.3#2

Always happy to connect over Linkedin or Twitter to discuss this further.

Hey Karthikeyan,

I know it's been some time since you posted this question but I'm curious on which direction you ended up going in, what were the results and have you run into any of the scaling challenges you anticipated seeing?

Mongo is an awesome platform but can lead to server sprawl and a ton of inefficiencies. Aerospike can provide higher level of throughput on significantly less hardware with a lot less organization complexities involved. Long term, it would be a tremendously more viable option.
