I can share my experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) only as this is the platform I and my associates have worked for the past few years! Onboarding experience on AEM can vary from use case to use case. Adobe has made grand efforts for the last few years to provide more tools and components OOB, which means less money spent on onboarding and customizations. AEM customers I have worked with have been really happy with the platform regardless of the somewhat more difficult learning curve. In addition, IT and Marketing from my experience have been reporting great ROIs. AEM Consulting companies have gained great experience and are getting faster in their implementations as well.
