The main reason for the change was the licensing. As you start to grow your business and your apps it keeps getting more and more expensive. Also theres not much room for scalability because things can get pretty messy as the app grows. I'm not against RAD platforms but with ASP. Net MVC we have more freedom to code whatever we want. And with DevOps the project's development and building pipelines can get pretty simplified and organized. We are also thinking about moving to .Net Core soon.
