It doesn't matter as long as you know what you are doing with the tools you use. MongoDB is standalone and provides more freedom for modification, Firebase is a configured, out of the box solution that is opinionated and operates on a higher level of abstraction. If you don't have lots of knowledge about Mongo and are ok with Firebase limitations and is willing to pay for it in your commercial app when it will get to a production level - go for a second option
