COBOL vs Jolie: What are the differences?
COBOL: Imperative, procedural and, since 2002, object-oriented programming language. COBOL was one of the first programming languages to be standardised: the first COBOL standard was issued by ANSI in 1968. COBOL is primarily used in business, finance, and administrative systems for companies and governments; Jolie: The First Programming Language for Microservices. Jolie crystallises the programming concepts of microservices as native language features: the basic building blocks of software are not objects or functions, but rather services that can always be relocated and replicated as needed. Distribution and reusability are achieved by design.
COBOL and Jolie can be categorized as "Languages" tools.
