My company is currently using Azure DevOps for task creation, workflow, source control, and code releases. Now they want to be able to see if Epics are on target and are considering ClickUp. I don't think ClickUp can do all that DevOps is doing for us. Can DevOps do high-level visual project management? Or Can Clickup and DevOps work together?

We were struggling as well, when we searched for usefull task management that would encompass task management, dev support and PM, but we did choose Azure DevOps and overall we were happy with the decision. I dont know ClickUp, but after years of experience with ADO, I would went for it. Also for high level tracking, there is a feature in ADO: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/boards/plans/review-team-plans?view=azure-devops

You can use Azure DevOps delivery plans to have roadmaps and higher-level planning and tracking.

We are starting to develop a new product, and we need to decide between Jira and ClickUp as our project and product management tool. We are using Bitbucket for the repository, and we know it is from Atlassian, so it prompts the question, which one to choose.

Jira with close eyes, easier, better integrations and works great with agile methodologies.

It will let you plan and execute while measuring everything which in turn gives you the ability to optimize the dev cycle and find bottlenecks.

You can create a backlog of stories and plan sprints to execute them. This is critical y you have aloe budget or are starting out.

Very mature and a great community behind it.

Clickup. These guys are hungry, and development speed is great. Numerous integrations and great out-of-the-box functionality + you can have all product marketing in it too. It's all about context switching, leading to cognitive overload. We found Clickup like an all-in-one solution. Onboarding, documentation, processes flow, goals, high level workload overview, you name it. + you can easily onboard a client to a dedicated area for them to be able to participate. Permissions and role, Teams and Slack integrations are great. Check this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ_ThEF2sL0 , you can add to templates any agile workflow you like. A bit of a learning curve, but as soon as you realize that this is notion on steroids, you are good to go. Disclosure - I am not affiliated with Clickup, just a happy producer using it to run our online school full cycle. Copywriters, designers, devs, product managers. It was a rough start, but with decent amount of onboarding and training it becomes THE TOOL.

I was wondering about the pros and cons of ClickUp and monday.com. We have a multi-level department that needs to communicate in their respective teams and with the rest of the department.

Hi, Marcia. After comparing monday.com and ClickUp (and dozens of others), I ended up choosing Monday.com for several reasons.

  1. Much smoother user experience. The interface is cleaner and highly intuitive.
  2. Better support. Before and after I started a paid account for Monday.com, they were more responsive than any other company. I've submitted bug reports, been invited to a call with Monday.com to discuss accessibility, and received direct email. They're very responsive.
  3. Flexibility without complication. I felt effective in Monday.com: I could set up interactive boards for tasks related to HR, R&D, accounting, team-wide information sharing, user testing, etc., all with little more than clicking and dragging and a bit of typing.
  4. Numerous integrations. Integrating Zoom, Google Calendar, and other services is (largely) straightforward, and Monday.com offers a huge number of integrations.
  5. Most similar to past practice. In the past I used Excel to create project overviews, timelines, status updates, etc., because Excel was easier to use and more flexible than project management apps. But that took time and was hard to maintain. Monday.com allowed me to do all the same things, but more quickly and more easily, and the result is easier to maintain.
  6. Bearable price. Monday.com is a little pricier than some other packages, but the functionality and the support have made it worth it for me.

Whether in a role as a manager or in a role as a developer/engineer, I appreciate being able to create interactive boards without having to program. I'm intrigued by the possibility of using Monday.com's API, but haven't found the need for it yet.

I actually am a fan of Monday.com and Clickup. It's been a few months since I've used Monday, so it's possible some things have changed. Monday.com is awesome in that you can basically create your own PM system and view it multiple ways. Their dashboards have a lot of functionality based on how the projects are built. However, repeatable tasks are not very intuitive and there are not a ton of ways to communicate. However, when it comes to my favorite PM software, Monday is definitely my second favorite. My first is Clickup. Mostly because it does everything Monday.com does, plus it has awesome repeatable tasks, and many ways to communicate within the platform. Their dashboards are so multi-functional, they can be mini-communication hubs within themselves. Custom Fields within the projects themselves allow you categorize one task 5 different ways (depending on what needs to be done with the task or how it's classified for different departments), allowing you to view only the relevant information needed as a CEO/Manager/worker.
