Safe Alternative Foundation for Education, Inc

In my opinion, React apps are the future of web and software development. React.js is a genius framework that allows for seamless full-stack development. Not only is React Native capable of writing fully native cross-platform apps, but it is an amazing javascript framework to begin with. If I had to recommend one to learn that has the most use cases and job opportunities in the future, it would be React Native 100%.

As the lead developer on this project, I have mostly web dev experience with only a bit of mobile dev. Because of this, I looked for cross-development frameworks that were free, and easy to pick up. React Native seemed to be the most well-documented and accessible x-platform mobile dev framework. I also had a bit of React.js experience from toying around developing web apps. The accessibility, ease of use, and community support were the primary reasons I chose to use React Native for our internal mobile app.

Considering SAFE is a grassroots, education-based nonprofit, they will have future needs for growth and sustainability. Choosing Firebase was a way to ensure that scaling for the internal app would be smooth and efficient even if I'm not working with SAFE in a full-time capacity when the needs arise.

The second determining factor was the ease of implementation. I am not a seasoned React Native developer, so the fact that Firebase has authentication, realtime syncing database, and security ruling built-in made it the optimal choice.
