Information Security Privately Owned

  • The JQuery libraries are embedded in my home page that allow my site to be viewed the way I want them to.

  • Good old Apache2 hasn't failed me yet. I use it because I know it.

  • The site is basically written in PHP.

  • There are a few HTML5 elements.

  • Backups are encrypted and pushed to Dropbox on a nightly basis of key information.

  • This entire system is hosted with Digital Ocean cloud service.

  • Python is used to roll up reports from data generated from processes I have running.

  • There are a couple js front end pieces that make my page look a little better.

  • I use Perl to rip through log files and compare them to some signature files I have created. When I get a match, it adds the bad guy to the list of shame in MySQL.

  • Nearly all of my code is on github. The code that I do not publish publicly is the security code I use to fight spam for my own server.

  • I am not using this DB for blog posts or data stored on the site. I am using to track IP addresses and fully qualified domain names of attacker machines that either posted spam on my website, pig flooded me, or had more that a certain number of failed SSH attempts.
