Microcontainers vs Dubbo: What are the differences?

Microcontainers: Tiny, Portable Docker Containers. A Microcontainer contains only the OS libraries and language dependencies required to run an application and the application itself. Nothing more. Rather than starting with everything but the kitchen sink, start with the bare minimum and add dependencies on an as needed basis; Dubbo: A high performance Java RPC framework. It is a high-performance, light weight, java based RPC framework. Dubbo offers three key functionalities, which include interface based remote call, fault tolerance & load balancing, and automatic service registration & discovery.

Microcontainers belongs to "Container Tools" category of the tech stack, while Dubbo can be primarily classified under "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)".

Some of the features offered by Microcontainers are:
