ASP.NET Zero vs Yesod: What are the differences?

ASP.NET Zero: Base solution for web applications. It is a starting point for new web applications with modern UI and SOLID architecture. It saves time by providing common application requirements as a pre-built Visual Studio solution (with full source code); Yesod: A RESTful Haskell web framework built on WAI. Yesod believes in the philosophy of making the compiler your ally, not your enemy. We use the type system to enforce as much as possible, from generating proper links, to avoiding XSS attacks, to dealing with character encoding issues. In general, if your code compiles, it works. And instead of declaring types everywhere you let the compiler figure them out for you with type inference.

ASP.NET Zero and Yesod can be categorized as "Frameworks (Full Stack)" tools.

Some of the features offered by ASP.NET Zero are:

  • Multi-Tenancy
  • Authentication & Authorization
  • Rapid Application Development

On the other hand, Yesod provides the following key features:

  • safety & security guaranteed at compile time
  • developer productivity: tools for all your basic web development needs
  • raw performance

Yesod is an open source tool with 2.2K GitHub stars and 341 GitHub forks. Here's a link to Yesod's open source repository on GitHub.
