Azure Redis Cache vs MapDB: What are the differences?
Azure Redis Cache: A fully managed, open source–compatible in-memory data store. It perfectly complements Azure database services such as Cosmos DB. It provides a cost-effective solution to scale read and write throughput of your data tier. Store and share database query results, session states, static contents, and more using a common cache-aside pattern; MapDB: Concurrent Maps, Sets and Queues backed by disk storage or off-heap-memory. MapDB provides Java Maps, Sets, Lists, Queues and other collections backed by off-heap or on-disk storage. It is a hybrid between java collection framework and embedded database engine. It is free and open-source under Apache license.
Azure Redis Cache and MapDB can be categorized as "In-Memory Databases" tools.
