Chartbeat vs Looker: What are the differences?

<Write Introduction here>
  1. Data Visualization: Chartbeat primarily focuses on real-time data visualization, providing live analytics on website performance and audience engagement metrics. On the other hand, Looker is more centered around offering advanced data exploration and visualization capabilities, enabling users to create custom dashboards and reports with a focus on historical data analysis.

  2. User Interface: Chartbeat offers a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate interface that provides quick insights at a glance, suitable for individuals who need quick real-time data. In contrast, Looker's interface is designed for more technical users, offering a robust set of tools for data modeling and exploration, making it ideal for businesses that require in-depth analysis and customization.

  3. Integration Capabilities: Chartbeat specializes in website analytics and integrates seamlessly with content management systems and other web platforms, making it a valuable tool for publishers and online media companies. Looker, on the other hand, is known for its versatility in integrating with various data sources such as databases, data warehouses, and cloud services, catering to a broader range of industries beyond media.

  4. Collaboration Features: Looker provides collaborative features such as sharing custom reports and dashboards, enabling teams to work together on data analysis and decision-making processes. In comparison, Chartbeat's collaboration tools are more limited, focusing primarily on providing individual users with real-time insights and alerts on website performance.

  5. Customization Options: Looker offers extensive customization options, allowing users to tailor reports, dashboards, and visuals to their specific needs, making it a robust solution for businesses with diverse data requirements. Chartbeat, while providing some degree of customization, is more standardized in its approach, catering to users who prioritize simplicity and quick access to key metrics.

  6. Scalability and Pricing Model: Looker is designed to handle large datasets and complex queries efficiently, making it a scalable solution for growing businesses with evolving data needs, but it comes with a higher price tag. Chartbeat, while offering real-time analytics for websites of all sizes, may be more cost-effective for smaller organizations or individuals looking for immediate performance insights without the need for extensive data processing capabilities.

In Summary, Chartbeat and Looker differ in their focus on real-time data visualization, user interface design, integration capabilities, collaboration features, customization options, scalability, and pricing models.

Power BI is really easy to start with. If you have just several Excel sheets or CSV files, or you build your first automated pipeline, it is actually quite intuitive to build your first reports.

And as we have kept growing, all the additional features and tools were just there within the Azure platform and/or Office 365.

Since we started building Mews, we have already passed several milestones in becoming start up, later also a scale up company and now getting ready to grow even further, and during all these phases Power BI was just the right tool for us.
