Amazon S3 vs Storj: What are the differences?

Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) and Storj are both cloud storage services that offer data storage solutions. However, there are several key differences between the two.
  1. Data Distribution: One of the major differences between Amazon S3 and Storj is the approach to data distribution. Amazon S3 uses centralized servers to store data, meaning that the data is stored in a few data centers located in different regions. In contrast, Storj utilizes a Reed-Solomon erasure coding technique, which breaks data into smaller fragments and spreads them across multiple nodes. This redundancy allows for greater durability and availability, as the data can be reconstructed even if some nodes go offline.

  5. Scalability and Performance: Amazon S3 is designed to handle large volumes of data and provides a highly scalable infrastructure. We offer our customer HIPAA compliant storage. After analyzing the market, we decided to go with Google Storage. The Nodejs API is ok, still not ES6 and can be very confusing to use. For each new customer, we created a different bucket so they can have individual data and not have to worry about data loss. After 1000+ customers we started seeing many problems with the creation of new buckets, with saving or retrieving a new file. Many false positive: the Promise returned ok, but in reality, it failed.

That's why we switched to S3 that just works.
