JavaScript. I guess the only alternative would be using something that transpiles to JS, like Dart or CoffeeScript or something. Nothing I've used so far has been as easy to work with as pure ES6 with some out-of-the-box Webpack configurations, like using the Vue.js CLI.

We use Yarn. The differences from npm are so negligible that for me it's almost entirely an aesthetic preference. And it feels a little faster.
