Clutch vs Metamon: What are the differences?
Clutch: The Open-Source Platform for Infrastructure Tooling (by Lyft). It provides everything you need to improve your developers' experience and operational capabilities. It comes with several out-of-the-box features for managing cloud-native infrastructure, but is easily configured or extended to interact with whatever you run, wherever you run it; Metamon: A Vagrant/Ansible toolkit for kickstarting Django apps. Metamon is a Vagrantfile combined with a set of Ansible Playbooks which can be used to quickly start a new Django project. Although Metamon is easily extensible by adding new Ansible roles, it is a better fit for people who use Django + Gunicorn + Nginx + PostgreSQL.
Clutch and Metamon can be categorized as "Infrastructure Build" tools.
Some of the features offered by Clutch are:
- First-class support for role based access control down to the individual resource level
- Highly configurable. No forks. Private extensions
- One Entrypoint
On the other hand, Metamon provides the following key features:
- Create an Ubuntu 14.04 machine.
- Set-up basic Operating system dependencies.
- Set-up a Virtualenv and automatically install dependencies.
