Grape vs Slim: What are the differences?
Developers describe Grape as "An opinionated micro-framework for creating REST-like APIs in Ruby". Grape is a REST-like API micro-framework for Ruby. It's designed to run on Rack or complement existing web application frameworks such as Rails and Sinatra by providing a simple DSL to easily develop RESTful APIs. It has built-in support for common conventions, including multiple formats, subdomain/prefix restriction, content negotiation, versioning and much more. On the other hand, Slim is detailed as "A PHP micro framework". Slim is easy to use for both beginners and professionals. Slim favors cleanliness over terseness and common cases over edge cases. Its interface is simple, intuitive, and extensively documented — both online and in the code itself.
Grape and Slim can be primarily classified as "Microframeworks (Backend)" tools.
"Well documented" is the primary reason why developers consider Grape over the competitors, whereas "Microframework" was stated as the key factor in picking Slim.
Grape and Slim are both open source tools. It seems that Slim with 9.95K GitHub stars and 1.84K forks on GitHub has more adoption than Grape with 8.87K GitHub stars and 1.09K GitHub forks.
According to the StackShare community, Slim has a broader approval, being mentioned in 29 company stacks & 21 developers stacks; compared to Grape, which is listed in 11 company stacks and 7 developer stacks.

I'm about to start a new project to build a REST API, and I got to this point: Yii2 Vs Lumen Vs Slim, I used Yii 1.1 a while a go and it was awesome, really easy to work with, as a developer you don't have to worry about almost anything, just setup the framework, get your php extensions, and start coding your app.
But, I was told about performance and someone recomended Lumen or Slim to work with a micro framework and a less bloated framework, what worries me is the lack of advantages that Yii2 offers, ACF and RBAC as a native tool on the framework, gii, the model validations and all the security props already in it.
Is it worth it? Is the performance so great on those frameworks to leave aside the advantages of a framework like Yii2?
How do you suggest to make the test to prove wich one is better?
