Mobiscroll vs React Native: What are the differences?

  1. Key difference between Mobiscroll and React Native: Mobiscroll is a set of UI controls that can be used to build mobile apps, while React Native is a framework for building native mobile apps using JavaScript and React.
  2. Mobiscroll focuses on UI controls: Mobiscroll provides a wide range of pre-built UI controls such as datepickers, timepickers, calendars, and form inputs, which can be easily integrated into mobile apps. React Native, on the other hand, allows developers to build UI from scratch using its component-based architecture.
  3. React Native supports Hot Reloading: One major advantage of React Native is its support for hot reloading, which allows developers to see changes made to the code immediately without the need for reloading the entire app. Mobiscroll does not provide this feature.
  4. Mobiscroll offers ready-to-use themes: Mobiscroll comes with a variety of ready-to-use themes that can be easily applied to the UI controls, giving the app a polished and consistent look. React Native, on the other hand, requires developers to style the app manually using CSS-like syntax.
  5. React Native has a larger community and ecosystem: React Native has gained significant popularity since its release and has a larger community and ecosystem compared to Mobiscroll. This means that there are more resources, libraries, and third-party integrations available for developers using React Native.
  6. Mobiscroll supports multiple platforms: Mobiscroll supports multiple platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows, and Web, allowing developers to create cross-platform apps with consistent UI controls. React Native, on the other hand, is primarily focused on iOS and Android platforms.

In Summary, Mobiscroll is a set of pre-built UI controls for mobile apps, while React Native is a framework for building native mobile apps using JavaScript and React. Mobiscroll focuses on UI controls and offers ready-to-use themes, while React Native allows for more flexibility in building UI from scratch. React Native also has the advantage of hot reloading and a larger community and ecosystem, but Mobiscroll supports multiple platforms.

Advice on React Native, Mobiscroll

Decided

We built the first version of our app with RN and it turned out a mess in a while. A lot of bugs along with poor performance out of the box for a fairly large app. Many things, that native platform has, cannot be done with existing solutions for RN. For instance, large titles on iOS are not fully implemented in any of existing navigations libraries. Also there's painfully slow JSON bridge and many other small, yet annoying things. On the other hand Flutter became a really powerful and easy-to-use tool. A bit of a learning curve, of course, because of Dart, but it worth learning. Flutter offers TONS of built-in features, no JSON-bridge, AOT compilation for iOS.

Needs adviceonVue.jsVue.jsVue NativeVue NativeReactReact

I'm a huge fan of Vue.js and I'm pretty comfortable with it. I need to build a mobile app for my company and I was now wondering whether I could make use of VueJS with Vue Native instead of switching to React. I know Vue Native builds on top of RN. My question is whether I'd have as much freedom with Vue Native over RN and whether you feel like Vue Native is "production ready" or not. Not sure of which shortcomings I may find using Vue Native... Thanks a lot!!!

Needs adviceonReact NativeReact Native

Hello guys, I am new here. So, if I posted without specific guidelines, please ignore.

Basically, I am an iOS developer and developing native apps for the last three years. Recently, I started learning React Native to develop apps for both platforms. If anyone out there knows any useful resources that will become a better react native developer.
