Powerful tools for integration into frontend applications (written with React or Angular, ...), a possibility for exposing a playground, self-documented API, powerful query language (for instance, the app decides which information is needed). You can do this also with Jersey or other similar solutions but (most of the time) then you need to define your own query language on top of HTTP.

Java lacks the support of functional programming or in some kind of way limited to object-oriented programming. Kotlin combines both paradigms.
