Joomla! vs OctoberCMS: What are the differences?

# Introduction

Key differences between Joomla! and OctoberCMS:

1. **Architecture**: Joomla! is built on MVC architecture, while OctoberCMS follows the Laravel framework and adopts modern PHP principles like the Single Responsibility Principle.
2. **Ease of Use**: OctoberCMS offers a more streamlined and user-friendly interface for content management compared to Joomla!, making it easier for non-technical users to navigate and manage their websites.
3. **Extensions and Plugins**: Joomla! has a larger selection of extensions and plugins available in its marketplace, offering more flexibility in adding functionalities to a website. However, OctoberCMS focuses on quality over quantity, ensuring that available plugins are well-maintained and reliable.
4. **Customization**: OctoberCMS allows for more flexibility in customization through its robust theme and plugin system that allows developers to create unique designs and functionalities easily. On the other hand, Joomla! provides a more structured approach to customization that can be limiting for advanced users.
5. **Performance**: OctoberCMS tends to have better performance and speed optimization compared to Joomla!, thanks to its use of modern PHP practices and the Laravel framework. This can lead to faster load times and a smoother user experience for visitors.
6. **Community Support**: Joomla! has a larger and more established community with extensive documentation and support forums, making it easier for users to find help and resources. OctoberCMS, while growing, may have a smaller community and fewer resources available for troubleshooting and assistance.

In Summary, Joomla! and OctoberCMS differ in their architecture, ease of use, extension offerings, customization options, performance, and community support.

Decided

10 Years ago I have started to check more about the online sphere and I have decided to make a website. There were a few CMS available at that time like WordPress or Joomla that you can use to have your website. At that point, I have decided to use WordPress as it was the easiest and I am glad I have made a good decision. Now WordPress is the most used CMS. Later I have created also a site about WordPress: https://www.wpdoze.com
