Ghost vs OctoberCMS: What are the differences?
What is Ghost? Just a blogging platform. Ghost is a platform dedicated to one thing: Publishing. It's beautifully designed, completely customisable and completely Open Source. Ghost allows you to write and publish your own blog, giving you the tools to make it easy and even fun to do.
What is OctoberCMS? Open-source, self-hosted CMS platform based on the Laravel PHP Framework. October is a Content Management System (CMS) and web platform whose sole purpose is to make your development workflow simple again. We feel building websites has become a convoluted and confusing process that leaves developers unsatisfied, we want to turn you around to the simpler side and get back to basics.
Ghost and OctoberCMS can be categorized as "Self-Hosted Blogging / CMS" tools.
"Beautiful" is the top reason why over 40 developers like Ghost, while over 13 developers mention "Get back to basics" as the leading cause for choosing OctoberCMS.
Ghost and OctoberCMS are both open source tools. It seems that Ghost with 30.3K GitHub stars and 6.55K forks on GitHub has more adoption than OctoberCMS with 8.76K GitHub stars and 1.98K GitHub forks.

The Ghost CMS is built on Node.js and provides the means to post new content (articles) to the site. As I have little time to actually spend on broadcasting my thoughts to the blogosphere, this doesn't see much use.
