Academia.edu is disrupting the $10B 100-year old scientific publishing industry, accelerating the speed by which papers are peer reviewed and published. Our service was launched in 2008. We exploded from 2M registered users to over 22M registered users between mid-2013 and June 2015. Our registered user base will grow to over 60M in the next 12-18 months. Our stickiness quotient is greater than Twitter’s, resulting in over 30M UVM. We're growing at over 60,000 new registrations per day.
