Flocker vs RailCar: What are the differences?
Flocker: Run your databases in Docker and make them as portable as the rest of your app. Flocker is a data volume manager and multi-host Docker cluster management tool. With it you can control your data using the same tools you use for your stateless applications. This means that you can run your databases, queues and key-value stores in Docker and move them around as easily as the rest of your app; RailCar: Rust implementation of oci-runtime (by Oracle). railcar is a rust implementation of the opencontainers initiative's runtime spec. It is similar to the reference implementation runc, but it is implemented completely in rust for memory safety without needing the overhead of a garbage collector or multiple threads.
Flocker and RailCar belong to "Container Tools" category of the tech stack.
Flocker and RailCar are both open source tools. It seems that Flocker with 3.19K GitHub stars and 287 forks on GitHub has more adoption than RailCar with 966 GitHub stars and 65 GitHub forks.
