Flowdock vs Zoho Cliq: What are the differences?

Introduction

In this Markdown, we will compare the key differences between Flowdock and Zoho Cliq, two popular team communication tools.

  1. Integration Features: Flowdock offers built-in integrations with various tools like GitHub, JIRA, Trello, and more, making it easier to streamline workflows and collaborate seamlessly. On the other hand, Zoho Cliq also provides integrations with multiple apps and services, but the range might not be as extensive as Flowdock's.

  2. Chatbots Support: Flowdock lacks native chatbot support, which can limit the automation and efficiency in communication processes. In contrast, Zoho Cliq has robust chatbot capabilities that enable users to automate tasks, retrieve information, and perform various actions within the chat interface.

  3. Admin Control and Customization: With Flowdock, administrators have limited control over user permissions and customization options compared to Zoho Cliq, which offers more advanced settings to tailor the platform according to the organization's specific needs and requirements.

  4. Storage and File Sharing: Flowdock has a limited amount of storage space for file sharing, which can be restrictive for teams dealing with large files or extensive data. Zoho Cliq provides more generous storage allowances, enabling teams to share files and collaborate without worrying about space constraints.

  5. Mobile Accessibility: While both platforms offer mobile apps for on-the-go communication, Zoho Cliq has a more user-friendly and intuitive mobile interface compared to Flowdock, providing a smoother user experience for mobile users.

  6. Cost and Pricing Plans: Flowdock's pricing plans may be more affordable for smaller teams or startups compared to Zoho Cliq, which offers a range of plans with varying features and costs tailored to suit different organizational sizes and requirements.

In Summary, Flowdock and Zoho Cliq differ significantly in terms of integration features, chatbot support, admin control, file sharing capabilities, mobile accessibility, and pricing plans.

Advice on Flowdock, Zoho Cliq

Decided

We chose RocketChat over other communications suites like Cliq or Slack mainly because we can self-host it on our own infrastructure. Since we have quite some projects going on which demand that we stay in touch with a lot of different stakeholders, pricing was an issue, too. With RocketChat, we have a huge set of features basically for free, RC offers apps for all major devices and systems and overall, we're very happy with it. The only downside is the limited amount of apps and integrations, but we can make due with what we have available.
