Hall vs Zoho Cliq: What are the differences?

  1. Pricing: A key difference between Hall and Zoho Cliq is their pricing models. Hall offers a free plan with limited features, while Zoho Cliq provides a free plan with more robust features for smaller teams. Zoho Cliq also offers tiered pricing plans based on the number of users, making it more scalable for growing businesses.

  2. Integration: When it comes to integration, Zoho Cliq outshines Hall by offering seamless integration with other Zoho apps such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Projects, and Zoho Desk. This integration allows for better collaboration and workflow automation within the Zoho ecosystem, which can be a significant advantage for businesses already using Zoho products.

  3. Customization and Branding: Zoho Cliq provides more options for customization and branding compared to Hall. Users can customize their chat channels, messages, and notifications to align with their brand guidelines, creating a more personalized and professional user experience. Hall, on the other hand, has limited customization options in comparison.

  4. File Sharing: Zoho Cliq offers advanced file sharing capabilities, including the ability to preview files directly within the chat interface, making it easier for team members to collaborate on documents and projects. In contrast, Hall's file sharing features are more basic, with fewer options for previewing files or organizing shared documents within the platform.

  5. Security: Zoho Cliq prioritizes security by offering end-to-end encryption for all communication on the platform, ensuring that sensitive information shared in chats remains secure. Hall also provides encryption but may not offer the same level of security features as Zoho Cliq, making Zoho Cliq a preferred choice for businesses with strict security requirements.

  6. Mobile Apps: Zoho Cliq offers dedicated mobile apps for both iOS and Android devices, allowing team members to stay connected and collaborate on the go. Hall also has mobile apps, but users have reported occasional glitches and performance issues, making Zoho Cliq a more reliable option for mobile users.

In Summary, Zoho Cliq stands out from Hall in terms of pricing, integration capabilities, customization options, file sharing features, security measures, and mobile app reliability.

Advice on Hall, Zoho Cliq

Decided

We chose RocketChat over other communications suites like Cliq or Slack mainly because we can self-host it on our own infrastructure. Since we have quite some projects going on which demand that we stay in touch with a lot of different stakeholders, pricing was an issue, too. With RocketChat, we have a huge set of features basically for free, RC offers apps for all major devices and systems and overall, we're very happy with it. The only downside is the limited amount of apps and integrations, but we can make due with what we have available.
