MANGOPAY vs PayPal: What are the differences?

Introduction

MANGOPAY and PayPal are both online payment platforms that provide services for individuals and businesses to send and receive payments. However, there are several key differences between the two.

  1. Fees and Pricing: MANGOPAY offers transparent and customizable pricing plans for businesses, allowing them to choose the services they need and pay accordingly. On the other hand, PayPal follows a tiered pricing structure, which may include additional fees for certain transactions or services.

  2. Payment Flow: MANGOPAY provides a flexible payment flow that can be integrated into the business's own platform, ensuring a seamless user experience. PayPal, on the other hand, usually directs users to their own platform for payments, which may cause redirection or extra steps for the customer.

  3. Account Types: MANGOPAY offers different account types based on the user's needs, including individual, business, and marketplace accounts. This allows businesses to create customized payment solutions. PayPal primarily focuses on individual and business accounts, offering fewer options for marketplace-style platforms.

  4. Dispute Resolution: MANGOPAY provides a comprehensive dispute resolution system, allowing users to manage and resolve any transaction-related issues directly through the platform. PayPal also offers dispute resolution, but it is often more intricate and may require external intervention.

  5. Currencies and International Payments: MANGOPAY supports a wide range of currencies, making it easier for businesses with international customers to process payments in their local currency. PayPal also supports multiple currencies but may charge additional fees for currency conversion and international transactions.

  6. Integration and Customization: MANGOPAY offers a highly customizable API, allowing businesses to integrate the payment solution into their existing platform and customize the user experience. PayPal also provides integration options but may have some limitations in terms of customization and branding.

In Summary, MANGOPAY offers customizable pricing plans, flexible payment flow integration, various account types, comprehensive dispute resolution, broader currency support, and greater integration and customization options compared to PayPal.

We use GoCardless to simplify the way clients and partners pay for our services. What intrigued us is the quick and easy ACH feature that gives our clients the option to log in with their bank account and shoot the funds directly to our account. The fee, compared to Stripe is less. Stripe and PayPal charge 2.9% + 30c and Stripe also forces the client to enter in all of their payment details manually and then if the payment doesn't work, the client has to try all over again. GoCardless charges 1% + 25c which is much more reasonable dealing with the large projects that we are currently working on.

We integrate GoCardless with Xero to easily send out quick invoices, receive the funds and track all revenue in one place.
