Strikingly vs WordPress: What are the differences?

  1. Ease of Use: One key difference between Strikingly and WordPress is the ease of use. Strikingly is known for its user-friendly interface that allows even beginners to create appealing websites without much technical knowledge. In contrast, WordPress offers more customization options but has a steeper learning curve, requiring a certain level of technical skill to navigate efficiently.

  2. Customization Options: Strikingly offers limited customization options compared to WordPress. While Strikingly provides pre-designed templates that are easy to personalize, WordPress allows for more granular control over the design and functionality of a website through plugins and themes, making it a more versatile platform for advanced users.

  3. Hosting and Domain: Strikingly offers integrated hosting and domain services, simplifying the process for users who want an all-in-one solution. On the other hand, WordPress requires users to find their own hosting provider and domain, giving them more control over these aspects but also adding an extra step to the setup process.

  4. E-commerce Functionality: Strikingly has built-in e-commerce functionality, making it easier for users to set up online stores and sell products. In comparison, while WordPress also supports e-commerce through plugins like WooCommerce, users may need to spend more time configuring and customizing their online stores.

  5. Community Support: WordPress has a larger and more active community compared to Strikingly, providing users with access to a wealth of resources, tutorials, and forums for troubleshooting and learning. This makes WordPress a more attractive option for users who value community support and collaboration.

  6. Cost: Strikingly offers a more straightforward pricing structure with clear plans and pricing tiers, making it easier for users to understand and choose a plan that fits their needs and budget. In contrast, WordPress is an open-source platform with countless free and premium plugins and themes, which can make it more cost-effective for users willing to invest time in research and customization.

In Summary, Strikingly is a user-friendly platform with integrated hosting and domain services, while WordPress offers more customization options, e-commerce functionality, community support, and cost-effective solutions through its open-source nature.

Decisions about Strikingly and WordPress

So many choices for CMSs these days. So then what do you choose if speed, security and customization are key? Headless for one. Consuming your own APIs for content is absolute key. It makes designing pages in the front-end a breeze. Leaving Ghost and Cockpit. If I then looked at the footprint and impact on server load, Cockpit definitely wins that battle.

10 Years ago I have started to check more about the online sphere and I have decided to make a website. There were a few CMS available at that time like WordPress or Joomla that you can use to have your website. At that point, I have decided to use WordPress as it was the easiest and I am glad I have made a good decision. Now WordPress is the most used CMS. Later I have created also a site about WordPress: https://www.wpdoze.com
