TeamGantt vs Trello: What are the differences?

Key Differences between TeamGantt and Trello

TeamGantt and Trello, both being project management tools, have several key differences that distinguish them from each other. Here are the top six differences:

  1. User Interface: TeamGantt offers a visually appealing and intuitive interface that focuses on timeline-based project management. It provides a Gantt chart view for easy scheduling and resource allocation, perfect for complex projects. In contrast, Trello provides a more simplistic and board-based interface that emphasizes task management with cards and lists.

  2. Collaboration Features: TeamGantt provides advanced collaboration features such as real-time updates, commenting on specific tasks, and the ability to assign roles and permissions to team members for better coordination. Trello, on the other hand, focuses on simplicity and allows for basic collaboration through comments and attachments on cards.

  3. Project Tracking: TeamGantt includes robust project tracking features like progress tracking, critical path analysis, and dependencies. These features offer a comprehensive view of project progress and help in identifying potential bottlenecks. Trello, while offering basic progress tracking through checklists and due dates, does not have advanced tracking capabilities.

  4. Integration Capabilities: TeamGantt integrates seamlessly with various popular tools and platforms such as Google Drive, Slack, and Jira. This allows for easy document management, communication, and issue tracking. Trello, though it can integrate with some external services, has fewer integration options compared to TeamGantt.

  5. Customization Options: TeamGantt provides extensive customization options, allowing users to tailor the tool according to their specific project needs. From custom project colors and logos to personalized columns and labels, TeamGantt offers flexibility in adapting the tool to match the user's branding. Trello, while it does offer some customization options like labeling and card covers, is more limited in terms of visual customization.

  6. Price and Pricing Models: TeamGantt operates on a subscription-based pricing model, with different plans based on the number of users and features required. It offers a 14-day free trial to test out the tool's capabilities. On the other hand, Trello offers a freemium model, with basic features available for free and advanced features through paid plans. Trello's free plan is suitable for small teams with limited project management requirements.

In summary, TeamGantt and Trello differ in terms of user interface, collaboration features, project tracking capabilities, integration options, customization options, and pricing models. TeamGantt provides a more comprehensive and robust project management experience, ideal for larger teams or complex projects. Trello, with its minimalistic approach, is suitable for smaller teams or simpler projects.

I'm comparing Aha!, Trello and Asana. We are looking for it as a Product Management Team. Jira handles all our development and storyboard etc. This is for Product Management for Roadmaps, Backlogs, future stories, etc. Cost is a factor, as well. Does anyone have a comparison chart of Pros and Cons? Thank you.

I just switched to ClickUp for my development agency - I am the product team, and I relay everything there betwixt designers, devs, and clients.

Clickup = Jira + Confluence but better - more ways to slice and dice your data & documents, make custom views, mind map relationships, and track people's work, plan goals... I even use it to manage project finances and household to-dos.

They have a very comprehensive free tier that never expires, and on top of that they're extremely generous with trials of their paid features, have more-than-fair pricing, and top-notch customer support.

Both Asana and Trello support Kanban style project tracking. Trello is Kanban-only project management, knowledge management, actually card-management tools. Asana is much more complex, supports different project management approaches, well integrated and helpful for any style/type project.

We choose Asana finally, but still some projects kept in Trello

I loved Slack. We used it for discussion. But somehow, it was always difficult to get things done. HeySpace is what replaced Slack and Trello as it combines the functionality of both tools.

So, now we keep on discussing as we did on slack, but once we to a point where we want to do something, we create tasks on a board and distribute them.

trello has a much simpler interface and easy to learn for any team member. asana might have more features and configuration options but do you really need a complex system for developers to manage tasks?

After Microsoft took over trello, it has become more restricted these days but still good for startups.

Keep it simple! Focus on your product, not tools.
