Flask is light weight and not as opinionated as Django but it then leaves a lot of the glue to do. Having worked with both before nothing beats the great ORM of Django to manage the data connections. Add to this the large range of libraries like the REST framework and south migrations makes rapid development both easy and enjoyable.
