We startup project with Apollo Client as the fronted data management library with a promise that in the short future we will have Graphql backend but for now you have to connect with standard REST. After 1 year there is no Graphql backend, classical business promises... so we switched to React query.

Pros.:

• you do not have to worry about merging objects
• you do not have to worry about writing custom resolvers
• you do not have to worry about writing __typename in custom resolvers
• you do not have to worry about schema description inInMemoryCache
• you do not have to worry about describing graphql schema

Cons.:

• you need to writing fetch keys
• you need to keep in mind fetch keys similarities

It is one of the greatest tool for any developer. No matter how many members your team has - one or a hundred. We try to achieve a clean GIT history and prefer rebasing to merging.

We use Cypress for its easy usage. Are you familiar with JQuery? Then it would be easy for you to use Cypress. We built automated testing into precommit hooks and also into Gitlab pipelines to be sure the code is as good as possible.

We use Gatsby for small static, presentational websites and also for complex dynamic applications based on JAM stack approach.
