k8s was in his beginning when we started using it. GCP makes our live hell easier, lot of money saved in contrast what would have been spent with vm + docker-compose.

We went over mongodb as back in the days it was sexy. Still do not regret as document oriented dbs help with building domains (DDD).

React was pretty much a standard when we started the project. And still feel this is good enough for us to build great software.
